International Journal of Chinese Language Teaching

International Journal of Chinese Language Teaching (IJCLT) is a fully peer-reviewed international journal published by Clifford Publishing, an imprint of Clifford Media International. It publishes biannually both original empirical research and systematic review studies on teaching and learning Chinese as a first and foreign language at all education levels. The journal accepts submissions written in English or Chinese.

The journal welcomes contributions in the following areas, but not limited to: Chinese linguistics; processing of Chinese as a first and second language; translation and interpreting studies; curriculum design and development; teaching methodology; teacher professional development; language and culture; language and society; language testing and evaluation; language planning and policy; multilingualism and multilingual education; information technology and language education.






Call for Proposals: 2024 Special Topic Issue

International Journal of Chinese Language Teaching (IJCLT) is seeking proposals from prospective guest editors for the 2024 special topic issue. Proposals are chosen by the IJCLT Editorial Board, and the guest editor(s) are responsible for overseeing the review process and selecting the content of the issue. Successful proposals have an overarching theme that is timely and interesting to the IJCLT readership. Examples of previous special issues are:


· Technology-Enhanced Chinese Language Education

· Cognitive Linguistics in Chinese Teaching and Learning

· Culture and Chinese as a Second Language (CSL) Teaching Materials

· Chinese for Specific Purposes


Proposals should include the following information:
· Rationale for this special issue
· Possible specific topics of inquiry
· List of potential contributors and/or confirmed contributors
· Curriculum Vitae of the guest editor(s) (Maximum of three guest editors)
